Project Description
Our client Heijmans is using 2 different Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) systems:
- a single antenna system fit for RADAN processing software (GSSI data format) that reaches depths up to 7 m.
- a 3D-Radar antenna array system fit for processing with 3D-RADAR Examiner (3DRE data format) software.
Because the 3D-RADAR GPR data and the 3D-RADAR Examiner software is superior but the signal cannot penetrate as deep as the single antenna system our client wished to combine the two systems. A rig for the measurement car was built that carried the 3DR system at the front and the single antenna system at the back. Combining LabVIEW and C-code a data format conversion (GSSI to 3DRE) tool is programmed that converted the single antenna GPR data format (GSSI) into 3DR GPR data format (3DRE) and allowed all functionality of 3DR Examiner to be applied to the single frequency GPR data.
